When you log into Access Careers Centre, you land on the learner homepage. If you’re an administrator, you can access the admin area to use the dashboard manager to configure your site’s themes.
Themes control what users see when they access the site, including the visual layout and which areas they can enter. Every site includes a default theme that you can update, and you can also create additional themes with your own customised settings.
Create a theme
To create a new theme, watch the video or follow the steps below.
From the admin area, click the Dashboard Manager tile.
Enter your client token, then click Enter.
Click Create New Theme.
Enter a name for the theme, then click Create.
After creating the new theme, it will appear along the left side of the page.
Manage a theme
After creating a theme, you can manage them to change the details.
To do this, follow the below steps.
From the admin area, click the Dashboard Manager tile.
Enter your client token, then click Enter.
Click the name of the relevant theme to open up a dropdown menu of options.
The table below contains details of the options available.
Option | Function |
Rename the theme | Rename your theme. Must be a minimum of 1 character in length. |
Clone the theme
| Create a copy of the theme, with identical settings and customisation. When doing so you'll be prompted to give it a new name. |
Set as Default theme | Sets the theme as the default for your site, which any newly created users will automatically be assigned to. |
Set as Alumni theme | Sets the theme as default for alumni on your site. Users that are assigned alumni status will be reassigned to this theme. |
Preview theme | Opens a pop-up to preview how the theme will look based on current settings. |
Delete theme | Delete the selected theme.
⚠️ Important: Themes cannot be recovered once deleted. |
Customise a theme
Each theme on your site is broken up into a number of tabs, that can be further customised. After applying changes to a tab, click Save.

Theme tabs | Function |
Spotlight | Customise spotlights that appear on the learner dashboard. These can be useful for promoting learning or other useful features to your users. |
Missions | Configure the missions that users can launch from their learning dashboard. You can use prebuilt mission templates, or create your own. |
Bulletin Board | Add or remove tiles for the bulletin board on the learner dashboard. This allows you to directly link learners to essential areas of your site. |
Navigation | Customise the navigation options featured along the top of the page. You can customise the items that appear within these options, or remove access to navigation options altogether. |
Appearance | Customise the visual appearance of the learner dashboard page, selecting from prebuilt colour schemes or building your own. You can also upload a company logo, to be used through your site. |
